Is a "Light Aircraft Carrier" (CVL), despite being designated in the game as a:
- "Fleet Carrier" (航空母艦) at Kai Ni,
- "Night Operations Aircraft Carrier" (夜間作戦航空母艦) at Kai Ni E,
- This is reflected in her combat capabilities only.
Ryuuhou Kai Ni/E's ship class in-game is the Ryuuhou-class, but is displayed as "Renovated Kagerou-class" on her Library page.
Gameplay Notes
Submarine Tenders (AS) are very weak, mostly used for certain Routings
- They can perform a powerful but limited special attack with SS(V).
Light Carriers (CVL) are weaker CV, with usually more permissive Routings. They are capable of attacking submarines.
Escort Carriers (CVE) are CVL with a base ASW stat. They are:
- Able to be placed in the main fleet of a Transport Combined Fleet,
- Required for some Expeditions' requirements,
- Able to perform Opening ASW, as other CVL cannot reach enough ASW to trigger them.
Night Carriers (CVN) are CV/CVL capable of Carrier Night Air Attacks without needing a NOAP
.
Special Mechanics

- If all 3 ships are SS(V), the 2nd and 4th ones will attack; if one of the two is moderately damaged (中破), the 3rd one will attack instead.[1]
- The fleet must be a single fleet or a Striking Force Fleet,
- The formation needs to be either Echelon
or Line Abreast
,
- At least one Submarine Supply Material
must be available in the inventory.

- ↑ Submarine tenders were also designed to house submarine crews to allow them to rest.
- ↑ This line is shared with expedition selection, resource collection, instant repair and development.
- ↑ She was one of the first ships made by the IJN using electric welding techniques. As a result of the immature technology, the joins in her hull were weak. This resulted in many problems with leaks.

- ↑ Her diesel engines were replaced by turbine engines during her conversion. Although more powerful, they were not enough to overcome the increased displacement and her speed was reduced by 2 knots.
- ↑ Kidou Butai (機動部隊) literally means 'mobile force' but the IJN used it to refer to their carrier task forces.
- ↑ She was the only ship damaged during the Doolittle Raid.
- ↑ She was used primarily for transporting planes during the war. After being badly damaged in the Bombing of Kure, she was permanently moored in the bay and had AA guns set up on her as an air defense position.
- ↑ This line is shared with expedition selection, resource collection, instant repair and development.
- ↑ Referring to the Battle of the Philippine Sea aka the Great Marianas Turkey Shoot where inexperienced IJN air crews were shot down en masse by USN AA crews.
- ↑ Her hangar was rendered inoperable during the 1945 Kure Raid.
