Introduction

大型艦用パッシブソナー兵装です。
九三式水中聴音機の捕音機を増強した大型グレードアップバージョンで、大和型戦艦のバルバス・バウ付近にも装備されました。
専門の人員も配置して水面下の音を収集、敵潜などの早期発見に努めます。

A Passive SONAR system for large ships.
An upgrade from the Type 93 Passive SONAR, with a larger sound collector, it was equipped on Yamato-class battleship within their bulbous bow.
Specialized personnel constantly listening on the machine, trying to quickly recognize any enemy submarines.

Mechanics

SONAR Sonars are the main equipment used for ASW, being required to trigger most OASW, and greatly enhancing ASW Damage Synergy. Their main stat is "ASW" Anti-Submarine Warfare.

Armor Penetration
Indepentant of synergies, some equipment provides additional armor penetration to ASW attacks.

The flat armor penetration value is calculated as follows:

Note
  • Armor penetration from equipment stacks,
  • The final armor of the targetted submarine cannot go below 1.
