Introduction

大戦初期から米海軍で運用された艦載水上偵察機。
複葉機タイプの本機は突出した性能はありませんが取り回しの良さと後継機が難航したことで、主に米海軍の巡洋艦級の中型艦を中心に艦隊の目として索敵等で広範囲に運用されました。
本機はその後期改良型、使い勝手の良い優秀な水上偵察機です。

A shipborne seaplane recon used by the US Navy from the early stages of the war.
Although this biplane did not have outstanding performance, due to its easy handling and the difficulty in finding a successor, it was used widely as the eyes of the fleet, mainly on medium-sized cruiser of the US Navy, for reconnaissance and other purposes.
This plane is a later improved model, an excellent and easy-to-use seaplane recon.

Mechanics

Seaplanes are the main aircraft type used by non-carrier ships (mainly battleships, cruisers, and auxiliaries).

• They are notably required to trigger Artillery Spotting.

Reconnaissance AircraftSpLBRecon are planes that:

• Can trigger Contact.

• Does not contribute Fighter Power in Aerial Combat, and so cannot be shot down during it (can be shot down during Detection).
• When equipped to a Land Base:
  • Can extend the minimum Combat Radius in Sortie Mode.
  • Add a bonus multiplier to the total Defense Fighter-Power of the base in Air Defense Mode.
  • Can contribute Fighter Power (if it has any Proficiency or ), and can be shot down.
