Introduction
紅茶の国で開発運用された、セイウチの名前を持つカタパルト発進可能な複葉飛行艇タイプのやや旧式な偵察機です。
低速ではありながら使い勝手が良く、木製型が大量生産され、戦艦Rodneyをはじめとした紅茶の国の戦艦や重巡の目として、艦載運用されました。
本装備は、夜偵バージョンの水上戦闘艦搭載機として実装です。
Eagles do not breed doves!
A slightly old-fashioned reconnaissance flying boat biplane that can be launched by catapult, named after the walrus, developed and operated in the country of black tea.
Although it is slow, it is easy to use, with a mass-produced wooden frame, and it was used on battleships and heavy cruisers from the country of tea, including the battleship Rodney.
This equipment is implemented in its ship-born plane night reconnaissance version, for surface combat.

Mechanics
Seaplanes are the main aircraft type used by non-carrier ships (mainly battleships, cruisers, and auxiliaries).
- They are notably required to trigger Artillery Spotting.
Reconnaissance Aircraft
SpLBRecon
are planes that:
- Can trigger Contact.
- Does not contribute Fighter Power in Aerial Combat, and so cannot be shot down during it (can be shot down during Detection).
- When equipped to a Land Base:
- Can extend the minimum Combat Radius in Sortie Mode.
- Add a bonus multiplier to the total Defense Fighter-Power of the base in Air Defense Mode.
- Can contribute Fighter Power (if it has any Proficiency or
), and can be shot down.
Night Recons have the ability to trigger Night Contact.
- The scouting phase animation will not show up like day battles; instead, the night recon plane's animation is played in the enemy fleet's radar.
- Acts as an Reconnaissance Seaplane too in day battle (with activation rates proportionally lower with the
stat).
- [Bug] In a Combined Fleet situation, if a ship in the fleet equipped with a night scout is evacuated from the combined fleet using the Fleet Command Facility, the night recon can still trigger and activate as the fleet proceeds onward and enters a night battle.

Trivia
- The particular camouflage of the Walrus in the equipment card uses the same scheme used by the Walrus stationed in HMS Rodney.
- The quote on the description "Eagles do not breed doves" is HMS Rodney's motto.
