Introduction
緒戦では軍上層部に軽視される傾向のあった電探装備ですが、戦いの後半では、全ての艦艇にとって、かなり大切な装備となっていきます。
特に比較的小型である程度の実用に耐えた13号電探と22号電探は、大戦後期まで生き残った駆逐艦のマストや大型艦艇などにも装備され、日本海軍艦艇の数少ない実用的な電波の目として、劣勢な戦局を支えていきます。
In the early stages of the war, the RADAR tended to be neglected by the upper echelons of the military, but in the latter part of the war, it became a very important piece of equipment for all ships.
In particular, the type 13 and type 22 radars, which were relatively small and have endured practical use to some extent, were equipped on the masts of destroyers and larger ships that survived until the latter half of the war, and were some of the few practical radio signals used by Japanese ships, that would support the lower battlefield as eyes.
Mechanics
Radars are used to provide boosts to LoS 
and accuracy 
. They are additionally used for:
- Certain Artillery Spotting,
- Certain Night Cut-Ins,
- Maelstrom resource loss mitigation,
"Dual Purpose Radars" are radars that are both Surface Radars and Air Radars.
SurfaceSurface Radars are radars that:
- Must have 5 or more LoS ,
- Are required for some Routings,
- Metigate the accuracy penalty of Smoke Screens,
- Increase the damage potential of most Special Attacks.
Air Air Radars are radars that:
Can be equipped in the RE of certain ships.
