Her abyssal form is assumed to be the Escort Water Princess.

General Information
  • She is named after Gambier Bay on Admiralty Island.
  • She was launched on the 22nd of November 1943.
  • Sunk on the 25th of October 1944 in the Battle of Samar.
  • On the 24th of June 2022, it was revealed that Caladan Oceanic, under guidance and support from both Parks Stephenson and Victor Vescovo, made several attempts to find her wreck off the coast of Samar. In a bid for good luck, Parks placed his Nendoroid of Gambier Bay inside the submersible DSSV Limiting factor in the hopes that this will help find the wreck (he did the same for USS Johnston in 2021); however, all the attempts have failed to locate Gambier Bay's wreck.
  • As per the records and ship logs during the battle, it was more likely that it was direct hits from Yamato's 46 cm guns that tore through Gambier Bay. This confirms that USS Johnston and USS Gambier Bay have been sunk by Yamato gunfire.
