  • Her name literally translates to "Wisteria wave". The term is usually used to refer to the way the wisteria flowers move like a wave in the wind. However, it is also believed that the IJN simply named her after the Fujinagata Shipyards where she was built.
  • She was launched on the 20th of April 1943.
