Her name means "Wind bringing snow".
She was launched on the 24th of March 1939.
She was transferred to the Republic of China as ROCS Tan Yang (丹陽) in 1947 after World War II as a war prize, and served as the flagship of the Republic of China Navy.
- Her "kana reading" in the game is uniquely "DANYANG" (in Pinyin Latin uppercase alphabet), which represents the romanization of ㄉㄢㄧㄤ (in Zhuyin Bopomofo symbols).
- Her name had been known as "Tan Yang", but is not since the romanization of "ㄉ" is represented with "d" in Hanyu Pinyin nowadays, and no longer "t" as in Wade–Giles when she was known by western countries. The pronunciation should stay the same in either case.
She was scrapped in 1970.
