General Information

• Her name is an archaic word for January, specifically the first month of Japan's Lunar Calendar, which is no longer in use.
• She was launched on the 23rd of July 1925.
• She was sunk in an air attack on the 25th of August 1942, northeast of Santa Isabel Island, Solomon Islands (7°47′S 160°13′E).

• She was part of the original game's launch when the game was released on the 23rd of April 2013.
• She got her Kai Ni on the 23rd of April 2015.

Misc

• Mutsuki was intended to be the name ship of her class, but since she was commissioned after Kisaragi (Mutsuki on the 25th of March 1926, Kisaragi on the 21st of December 1925), she is thought of as "Kisaragi's younger sister".

Appearances in derivative works

• Mutsuki appears in the anime adaptation of Kantai Collection. She shows Fubuki her new shared quarters like a tour guide after welcoming her to the 3rd Torpedo Squadron which also contains Yuudachi and the Sendai sisters.
