Introduction

艦隊の航空偵察の主役として、戦いの前半期では幅広い局面で活躍した「零式水上偵察機」。
各水上艦艇に搭載され、三座を活かして艦隊の「目」としての索敵任務に務めました。
本機は電探装備の同機をさらに改修、夜間偵察機として整備改修された新配備三座夜間水上偵察機です。

The "Type 0 Reconnaissance Seaplane" was the leading reconnaissance seaplane of the fleet and was widely used during the first half of the war.
It was equipped on every ship in the fleet. The crew of three would undertake reconnaissance missions and act as the "eyes" of the fleet.
This unit is a new three-seater night reconnaissance seaplane that has been upgraded for night operations with the addition of a surface RADAR.

Mechanics

Seaplanes are the main aircraft type used by non-carrier ships (mainly battleships, cruisers, and auxiliaries).

• They are notably required to trigger Artillery Spotting.

Reconnaissance AircraftSpLBRecon are planes that:

• Can trigger Contact.

• Does not contribute Fighter Power in Aerial Combat, and so cannot be shot down during it (can be shot down during Detection).
• When equipped to a Land Base:
  • Can extend the minimum Combat Radius in Sortie Mode.
  • Add a bonus multiplier to the total Defense Fighter-Power of the base in Air Defense Mode.
  • Can contribute Fighter Power (if it has any Proficiency or ), and can be shot down.

Night Recons are normal Seaplane Recon with the extra ability to trigger "Night Contact".

• The scouting phase animation will not show up like day battles; instead, the night recon plane's animation is played in the enemy fleet's radar.

• [Bug] In a Combined Fleet situation, if a ship in the fleet equipped with a night scout is evacuated from the combined fleet using the Fleet Command Facility, the night recon can still trigger and activate as the fleet proceeds onward and enters a night battle.
