台湾沖航空戦や捷一号作戦などに出撃します。本機は、その後改良され、名機「紫電改」へと発展していきます。

The "Shiden" was a land-based fighter developed from the "Kyoufuu" seaplane fighter.
Although it was long-awaited, this initial model had many flaws, including the mid-wing arrangement derived from the "Kyoufuu", the resulting long telescopic landing gear, poor visibility, and under-wing gun pods.
It flew sorties during the Formosa Air Battle and Operation Sho-Go. This aircraft was later improved into the famous "Shiden Kai".
