Introduction

敵の航空攻撃から艦艇や施設を守るために運用する防空用気球です。
高速で艦隊運動中の艦艇では使用できませんが、着上陸戦闘時の艦艇や、敵の空襲などから陸上施設等を守るために、局地的な戦域で一定の効果を発揮します。
ノルマンディー上陸作戦などでも多数使用されました。
運用が難しく効果も限定的であるため、徐々に姿を消していきます。

An air defense balloon used to protect ships and facilities from enemy air attacks.
Although it cannot be used by ships moving at high speed, it is effective in local battlefields to protect ships during landing battles, and ground facilities from enemy air attacks.
Many were notably used in the Normandy landing operations.
Since it is difficult to operate and its effect is limited, it will gradually disappear.

Once deployed

• For every ship with a balloon equipped will boost the damage of the fleet and the LBAS (post-cap):

• The effect stacks up to 3 balloons, and up to 1 balloon per ship,
• The effect applies to LBAS and day shelling, with the enemy balloons also negatively affecting allied LBAS,
• The effect does not apply to torpedo phases or night battles,
• If the ship deploying it is sunk, the balloon is then removed, as well as its effects.
