Introduction

本土防空の切り札、局地戦闘機「紫電改」。同機が集中配備された三四三空。
四国松山に展開した同戦闘飛行隊の一つ、精強な紫電改戦闘機隊、戦闘701。
自らも優れたパイロットである空中指揮官、鴛淵隊長の率いる同隊は、
苦しい戦局の中、圧倒的に優勢な敵機動部隊艦載機群に立ち向かいました。

The "Shiden Kai" were the ace-in-the-holes of the mainland's air defenses. The majority were deployed to the 343rd Air Group.
The mighty Shiden Kai squadron, the 701st Fighter Squadron, was a squadron from that air group that was deployed to Matsuyama in Shikoku.
Led by the legendary squadron commander Oshibuchi, an excellent pilot in his own right, they confronted overwhelming numbers of enemy carrier-based aircraft during the harshest times of the war.
