Introduction

軽巡洋艦や甲標的母艦に改装した水上機母艦、そして潜水艦が搭載して運用します。
二発の魚雷を装備し、敵艦に肉薄して雷撃、艦隊決戦を補助する特殊兵器です。

Type A ko-hyoteki is a unique weapon that has two torpedoes and that approaches and attacks enemy ships to support open-sea warfare.
The Type A Ko-hyoteki which means "Target 'A', Type 'A'", which the name was assigned as a ruse: If their design was prematurely discovered by Japan's foes, the Japanese Navy could insist that the vessels were battle practice targets. They were also called "Tubes" (筒 Tou) or "Target" (的 Teki, abbreviation of 'Hyōteki') and other slang names.
Five of these had participated in the Pearl Harbor attack, with two actually making it into the harbor. They also participate in the attacks at Sydney Harbor as well as in Madagascar.

Buildable. Stock equipment of Chitose A and Chiyoda A. Grants a pre-emptive torpedo attack before first shelling phase to CLTs and Submarines below level 10. Submarines above level 10 do not need to equip this for an opening attack.
Despite that it has torpedo icon, this equipment is not regarded as a torpedo. Be careful when you go to night battle where the number of main guns, secondary guns and torpedoes concerns whether your ships can do cut-in attacks. (See also "Night Battle" section in "Combat" page)
