Introduction

主砲等から発射される落下傘付の照明弾です。
夜戦時において敵艦隊付近を照明し、味方艦隊の夜間攻撃を支援します(敵艦隊の夜間特殊攻撃発生も少し抑えることが可能です)。

The Star Shell is a parachute flare fired from the ship's cannons. It can illuminate the enemy fleet's position which can aid any allied ships' attacks on the enemy. (It can also lower the offensive capabilities of the enemy fleet.)

Notes

Unbuildable. Stock equipment of Sendai Kai Ni and Ayanami Kai Ni.

Can provide the following effects when a ship equipped with this enters a night battle:

  • How the Star Shell animation looks like (Picture courtesy of Yamikaze)
Night battle attack accuracy of your fleet increases.
  • Cut-in rate of your fleet increases.
  • Cut-in rate of enemy fleets decreases.
  • Can NOT equip on CT (Training cruiser).

As opposed to Searchlight, this equipment doesn't apply a negative effect on the ship equipping it, but the above effects are not guaranteed to trigger, meaning that it can fail. Equipping more Star Shells in your fleet will increase the chances it will trigger drastically. Can be used simultaneously with Searchlight.
