Analysis
Priority: Low
- At first remodel, she has low firepower and a decent torpedo stat, making her hitting harder in night battle than at day, but not great at either.
- While not impressive in combat, do keep in mind than many maps require you to bring at least a few destroyers for routing.
- Furthermore, destroyers are cheap to deploy and can equip Drum Canister, making them suited for expeditions.
- No further remodels have been implemented for her yet (as of January 2020).
Important Information
- Required for A55, A56, B47, and B50.
- An option for C15 and C21.

Trivia
- Map 5-2 Boss node drop.
- First available via construction with the September 25th, 2015 update.
- Initially, Akigumo was grouped with the Yuugumo-class by historians. This was due to factors such as the Kagerou and Yuugumo-classes being quite similar and her naming scheme. Later finds of the IJN ship ledgers revealed that she was actually meant to be the last of the Kagerou-class.
- The confusion was compounded by the existence of several fake destroyers in ledgers, the funds for which were actually being used to pay for Yamato's construction as part of the secrecy surrounding her.
- "Orphan" Akigumo, to even-up numbers (and further confuse matters!) was later assigned to the Yuugumo-class DesDiv10
- Sunk in action, 11 April 1944.
- Her name means "Autumn cloud".
