Trivia

General Information

• Her nickname is "Yuu" as U-511 and "Ro" as Ro-500.
• She was launched on the 22nd of September 1941.
• Surrendered in August 1945 and scuttled on the 30th of April 1946 in the Gulf of Maizuru.
• Wreck located in Wakasa Bay in 2018.

Update History

• She was added on the 6th of February 2015 as Winter 2015 Event E3 reward.

Misc

• The real U-511 was transferred to Japan from Nazi Germany as part of a technology exchange assistance program, and she was renamed Ro-500 after the Japanese took command of her. The vessel survived the war and surrendered to the Allies.
• Although a 1st class submarine by displacement according to IJN conventions, she was designated "Ro" as used by 2nd class submarines under 1000 tons.
• Survived World War II.
