General Information

Her nickname, "Shioi", is an alternate reading of "401". 4 = "Shi"; 0 = "O"; 1 = "I".
She was launched on the 11th of March 1944.
Expanded as a target ship, off Pearl Harbor, on the 31st of May 1946.
- The reason she was a target ship by the US Navy was to prevent her from falling into the hands of the Soviet Union before the Cold War.
Wreck located on the 17th of March 2005 in 820 m (2690 ft) of water off Barbers Point, Oahu, Hawaii. Her bow is broken off and lies near the rest of the hull, connected to the main wreck by a debris field. The main wreck sits upright.

She was added on the 24th of December 2013 as Christmas 2013 Event E3 reward.
Was added to the LSC construction pool on the 26th of September 2014.

Misc

Her design was shown in the endcard of Arpeggio anime episode 1 that aired on the 8th of October 2013, two months before she was added to the game.
