↑ Upon seeing a Maruyu sub, Kiso's officers asked "So what are you? Are you seriously a submarine?"
↑ Mole transports are Tokyo Express runs made with submarines instead of destroyers.
↑ "Mogu" is a triple pun, the sound of eating, as well as part of 'mogura' (mole) and 'moguru' (to submerge). In this line it sounds like she's singing the 'mogu mogu'.
↑ Due to problems with trim adjustment during her initial trials, her aft would sink while her bow remained afloat and vice versa.
↑ Her top speed was 10 knots (19 km/h) when surfaced and 4 knots (7.4 km/h) when submerged.

General Information

Her name "Maruyu" comes from the designation given by the IJA. Written as "○" for "Maru" and "ゆ" for "Yu". The "Yu" in her name being short for "Yusouyou", meaning "Transporter".
She was launched on the 31st of October 1943.
Most of them survived the war and were scrapped.

Update History

She was added on the 24th of December 2013 as part of the LSC construction pool.

Misc

She was designed and built by the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) instead of the Navy to resupply isolated garrisons in the Pacific.
- The character ゆ inside the character 〇 resembles a fish in a fishbowl. Fitting for a sub.
Unlike other ships in the game, she is meant to represent her entire class of 38 ships.
