  1. ↑ She uses "隊長" which just means "commanding officer" because she was an Army submarine.
  2. ↑ She was part of the Imperial Japanese Army.
  3. ↑ Upon seeing a Maruyu sub, Kiso's officers asked "So what are you? Are you seriously a submarine?"
  4. ↑ Mole transports are Tokyo Express runs made with submarines instead of destroyers.
  5. ↑ "Mogu" is a triple pun, the sound of eating, as well as part of 'mogura' (mole) and 'moguru' (to submerge). In this line it sounds like she's singing the 'mogu mogu'.
  6. ↑ Due to problems with trim adjustment during her initial trials, her aft would sink while her bow remained afloat and vice versa.
  7. ↑ Her top speed was 10 knots (19 km/h) when surfaced and 4 knots (7.4 km/h) when submerged.

General Information
  • Her name "Maruyu" comes from the designation given by the IJA. Written as "○" for "Maru" and "ゆ" for "Yu". The "Yu" in her name being short for "Yusouyou", meaning "Transporter".
  • She was launched on the 31st of October 1943.
  • Most of them survived the war and were scrapped.

  • She was designed and built by the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) instead of the Navy to resupply isolated garrisons in the Pacific.
    • The character ゆ inside the character 〇 resembles a fish in a fishbowl. Fitting for a sub.
  • Unlike other ships in the game, she is meant to represent her entire class of 38 ships.
