General Information

• Her nickname, "Shioi", is an alternate reading of "401". 4 = "Shi"; 0 = "O"; 1 = "I".
• She was launched on the 11th of March 1944.
• Expanded as a target ship, off Pearl Harbor, on the 31st of May 1946.
  • The reason she was a target ship by the US Navy was to prevent her from falling into the hands of the Soviet Union before the Cold War.
• Wreck located on the 17th of March 2005 in 820 m (2690 ft) of water off Barbers Point, Oahu, Hawaii. Her bow is broken off and lies near the rest of the hull, connected to the main wreck by a debris field. The main wreck sits upright.

• She was added on the 24th of December 2013 as Christmas 2013 Event E3 reward.
• Was added to the LSC construction pool on the 26th of September 2014.

Misc

• Her design was shown in the endcard of Arpeggio anime episode 1 that aired on the 8th of October 2013, two months before she was added to the game.
