The submarines share the same costume, consisting of a white and blue serafuku top with pink scarf over a classic blue school swimsuit.

-For most players, I-168 is likely to be one of the earliest subs you are likely to obtain and while she does not have any stats that make her shine in comparison to her other submarine sisters (exception of [[Maruyu]]) she is one of the few submarines that retains being a submarine instead of become a Carrier-based Submarine. Resulting in her being able cheaper and inexpensive to use in most combat situations as well as have a relatively low repair time.
-As with all submarines, I-168 can be used to draw enemy fire away from enemy destroyers, light cruiser and certain light carriers, Aviation based ships, and on some occasions, enemy installation units since they are usually good for drawing away attack and can dodge somewhat effectively in battle. Outside of this using I-168 with other sets of submarines groups can make as an effective means of doing various maps for resource hoarding or ranking such as [[World 2#2-3|2-3]], [[World 4#4-2|4-2]], [[World 4#4-3|4-3]], and [[World 5#5-4|5-4]].
-They can also be effective for clearing maps as [[World 5#5-3|5-3]], and [[World 6#6-1|6-1]]. Like all subs, I-168 has limited usage during events, since they can only be used in so many ways. Player may use subs to help conduct early map scouting, contribute with triggering debuffs, or even to draw certain boss units attacks away. But only if the maps permit such usage.
