− | The | + | The 5th Annual Festival has been renamed to the '''Naval District Saury & Sardine Festival''' and is set to begin on '''October 25th, 2019'''. This event was renamed and changed due to current events taking place in Japan where Saury fishing has been poor this year but Sardine sails have been quite high. As such, the theme of this event will be to catch '''both Saury and Sardines'''. |

Time remaining until Naval District Saury Festival 2021 Mini-Event ends
|
---|
The Naval District Saury Festival (鎮守府秋刀魚祭り) is an annually held mini-event occurring in early fall, where it is possible to drop "Pacific Saury fishes" on certain maps to then either exchange them in limited quests or consume them for some resources and consumables.
This event has happened every year since 2015 with slight variations each time:
The 6th Annual Festival known as the Return of the Saury Festival (due to the last year's cancelation) has been launched on October 29th, 2021. It ended on the 19th of November 2021. Unlike previous events, this festival will be held along with the Fall 2021 Event as part of the theme. The Main Operation Event maps in this festival will contain Saury to catch and will conclude before the extra operations are launched.
The 2020 Saury Festival has been canceled dues to various reasons such as poor fishing and the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 5th Annual Festival has been renamed to the Naval District Saury & Sardine Festival and is set to begin on October 25th, 2019. This event was renamed and changed due to current events taking place in Japan where Saury fishing has been poor this year but Sardine sails have been quite high. As such, the theme of this event will be to catch both Saury and Sardines.
The 4th Annual Naval District Saury Festival is set to begin on October 10th, 2018 and will serve as a tie-in Collaboration to the Second Naval District Saury Festival (Live Event) which was launched on October 5th, 2018 across Japan.
The 3rd Annual Naval District Saury Festival began on September 29th, 2017 and ran for 2 weeks and ran in collaboration with the Naval District Saury Festival in Yokohama.
The mini event has returned on October 21st, 2016 with the same theme, but a whole new set of quests along with a brand new "Big Catch Flag" for the year and will last till November 4th, 2016.
First occurrence of the Saury mini-event, that started back in October 9th, 2015 and lasted till October 30th, 2015. The main theme of the campaign centers around collecting Pacific Saury from various parts of the Ocean Waters which can be collected to then be exchanged for various resources and for completing quests that are tied to the annually held campaign which can reward various rewards and ultimately a "Big Catch Flag" which can be placed up as a decoration in the main base to show the completion of the quests of the season.
How to Obtain
Pacific Saury (fish) can be obtained as drops from certain maps during the event.
- Special Saury Festival-themed music will play when entering battle on maps that contain saury.
To drop a Saury, the fleet must get an S rank (sometimes just an A rank) on relevant Nodes. After the battle, a notification might be displayed to indicate that some saury has been fished to then get it, prior to any ship drops.
A maximum of 99 raw fishes can be held at a time. Once at 99, no more fish can be obtained.
- It is possible to obtain more than 99 fishes during the duration of the even, as long as they are consumed to keep the total below 99.
- The Saury item can only be used for "#Cooking", rewarding resources or consumables.
- #Saury Quests require to possess certain quantities of saury in order to be completed, but won't consume them.
Drop rate
The drop rate can be increased by using #Fishing Equipment or #Fishing Ships.
- These pieces of equipment can be carried by multiple ships in a fleet, and different types of equipment will synergize[1].
- Thus to maximize the bonus, it is recommended to carry a diverse set of fishing equipment on multiple ships.
- All Coastal Defense Ships count here as "Fishing Ships", having an innate fishing bonus.
The drop rates will also depend on the current world's fish stocks.
- Fishing on any map of a given world will decrease its overall fish stock.
- "Overfishing" will happen if too many fishes are caught on a given world in a short amount of time.
- Using Depth Charges speeds up the overfishing rate.
- Once overfished, the drop rates will decrease until fishing becomes impossible (due to extremely low rate).
- Stocks will regenerate over time.
- The exact amount of fish restocked and time needed is not known, but depends of the overfishing state, and will take about one or two days at worst.
- It is recommended to cycle between world and event maps to maximize drop while avoiding overfishing.
Fishing Ships
Other auxiliaries (AR/AO/LHA) may also work.
