General Information

• Her nickname, "Shioi", is an alternate reading of "401". 4 = "Shi"; 0 = "O"; 1 = "I".
• She was launched on the 11th March 1944.
• Expended as a target ship, off Pearl Harbor, 31 May 1946. Wreck found in March, 2005.
  • The reason she was a target ship by the US Navy was to prevent her from falling into the hands of the Soviet Union before the Cold War.
• Wreck located 17 March 2005 in 820 meters (2,690 feet) of water off Barbers Point, Oahu, Hawaii. Her bow is broken off and lies near the rest of the hull, connected to the main wreck by a debris field. The main wreck sits upright.

• She was added on the 24th December 2013 as Christmas 2013 Event E3 reward.
• Was added to the LSC construction pool on the 26th September 2014.

Misc

• Her design was shown in the endcard of Arpeggio anime episode 1 that aired 8 October 2013, two months before she was added to the game.
