Class Abbreviation Note
駆逐艦 Destroyer 駆逐 DD High evasion, low resource consumption and capable of ASW, but weak armor and firepower.
軽巡洋艦 Light Cruiser 軽巡 CL Very flexible, with Cruiser (medium) guns, ASW, and Artillery spotting with Seaplanes.
重雷装巡洋艦 Torpedo Cruiser 雷巡 CLT Can equip Type A Ko-hyoteki to enable opening torpedo attack.
重巡洋艦 Heavy Cruiser 重巡 CA Stronger in surface combat than light cruisers, but lacking ASW.
航空巡洋艦 Aviation Cruiser 航巡 CAV Similar to CAs, but capable of initiating Fighter Combat (necessary to trigger Artillery Spotting), and of ASW with Seaplane bombers.
戦艦 Battleship BB Capital ship with high-caliber guns and heavy armor. No ASW or torpedo attack.  Triggers second Shelling phase.
Fast Battleship Kongou Class and Bismarck only. Other battleships are slow speed.  Faster Repair times.
航空戦艦 Aviation Battleship 航戦 BBV Can enable ASW with seaplane, can initiate air combat for Artillery spotting.
正規空母 Standard Aircraft Carrier 空母 CV Attacks enemy with planes and fight for air superiority. Cannot attack during night battle. Must equip with bombers to enable attack.
装甲空母 Armored Aircraft Carrier 装母 CVB Unlike other carriers, Taihou can still attack with moderate hull damage.
軽空母 Light Aircraft Carrier 軽母 CVL Weaker than standard carrier, but capable of attacking Submarines.
水上機母艦 Seaplane Tender 水母 AV Chitose sisters original form. Can participate in all day attack stages with correct setup
潜水艦 Submarine SS Only participate in both torpedo phases and night battle, cannot be targeted by ship without ASW ability.
潜水空母 Submarine Aircraft Carrier 潜母 SSV Submarine that can equip seaplanes.
揚陸艦 Amphibious Assault Ship 揚陸 LHA Akitsumaru comes with a Daihatsu which increases resource gain from expeditions.

潜水母艦 Submarine Tender 潜母艦 AS Taigei is weak, but enables superior pathing in 6-1.

Note

  • Both Battleships and Fast Battleships shared the same hull classification, BB.
  • Some carriers call themselves 正規空母, Fleet Carriers, to distinguish them from Escort Carriers (auxiliary) or other types of ships. Ship classes such as CV, CVL and CVB are fleet carrier.  This term sometimes refers only to CVs.
  • Currently there are 137 Ships in the game (Kai/ Kai Ni not included)

Ship Stats

  • Firepower Firepower, Torpedo Torpedo Attack, Anti Air Anti-Air, Armor Armor and Luck Luck can be upgraded by Modernization.
  • Firepower Firepower, Torpedo Torpedo Attack, Anti Air Anti-Air, Armor Armor, Anti Submarine Anti-Submarine Warfare, Line of Sight Line of Sight and Evasion Evasion will improve from level up.
  • Marrying a ship will increase her HP, luck and level cap. Increase in level cap allows the ship to have higher ASW, evasion and LoS.
  • Ship remodel
    •  (Kai) stands for Modified/Revised/Improved/Altered, this term is used on all remodelled ships
    •  (Ni) or Zwei in German stands for the number 2, or Second, the term Kai Ni (改ニ) is applied to ships with a second remodel
    • Drei in German stands for the number 3, or Third.
  • Rarity
    • Top-Left : Common
    • Bottom-Right : Ultra-rare
