Trivia
- Her name translates to "Prince Eugene". She's named after Prince Eugene of Savoy, one of the most important field marshall in the history of the Austrian military. He served the Habsburg Monarchy during the late 17th and early 18th century.
- Because of the fact above, Prinz Eugen has a male given name.
- Eugene is derived from the Greek word ευγενης (eugenēs), "noble", literally "well-born".
- Towed to Kwajalein Atoll after Operation Crossroads before being capsized December 1946, thus making her one of the Kriegsmarine ships who survived World War II.
- Her artist's commentary from Twitter on Nov. 13th reveal the follow design details.
- She looks like Bismarck because the British mistook her for Bismarck. Hence, the turrets, bridge, etc, are all more or less modeled after Bismarck.
- Her pre-remodel patterns is a reference to the standard Baltic patterns of the DKM. Her post-remodel patterns is a reference the camo patterns after the English Channel Dash (Operation Cerberus).
- There's a Prinz Eugen patch beneath her shoulder pad iron cross.
