- She is voiced by Aya Endo, which explains why her lines make her sound like Sheryl Nome of Macross F.
- Sunk on her first maiden voyage May 27, 1941 at North Atlantic following incapacitating damage
- Responsible for sinking the world's largest battlecruiser, British HMS Hood (51)
- She and her sister Tirpitz were the largest ever built by Nazi Germany and any European power.
- Her remodel art is based from the 'Operation Rheinübung ', where she is repainted on her way to Norway.
- Named after German chancellor, Otto von Bismarck
- Her wreck was discovered in 1989 by Dr. Robert Ballard
