- She received her second upgrade on 23/04/2014, together with Tone & Chikuma.
- She received third upgrade on 26/09/2014
- Aside from an overall stat boost, she became the only allied battleship able to launch torpedoes in-game.
- Battleship Re-Class is the first battleship overall that can launch torpedoes in-game.

- Subsequent expeditions have shown that she was more likely scuttled by her crew. However, even though the British forces couldn't deliver the killing blow, it is undeniable that they would have eventually sunk her.
- She was responsible for sinking the world's largest battlecruiser, the British HMS Hood (51).
- She & her sister Tirpitz were the largest ever built by Nazi Germany & any European power.
- Her torpedo tubes are actually cribbed from Tirpitz, which was equipped with torpedoes.
- She's named after the German chancellor, Otto von Bismarck.
- Her wreck was discovered in 1989 by Dr. Robert Ballard.
- Her first remodel art is based on her Baltic camouflage applied partway through combat readiness training at Kiel Bay. Her second remodel art represents her repainting before departing Norway & into the Atlantic during Operation Rheinübung.
- 改 means "remodelled" (for the first time), 改二 means "remodelled a second time", etcetera. However, German ships use Zwei (two) & Drei (three) for 改二 & 改三, respectively, omitting the 改.
