Auxiliaries are ships primarily supports combatant ships or naval operations. They have very limited combat capability, which is mainly for self defense.
Roles of auxiliary ships
- Transport
- Amphibious Assault Ships (LHA) can only carry certain guns and carrier-based aircrafts. Akitsu maru is currently the only amphibious assault ship in game. Remodelled Akitsu maru in history has widened flight deck, thus increase in aircraft carrying capacity.
- Repair
- Repair ships (AR) can repair other ships in the same fleet. Akashi is the only Repair Ship.

Replenishment
- Akitsu maru has the lowest ammo consumption among all carriers.
- Akitsu maru unremodelled version has aircraft capacity 0.
- Akitsu maru comes with a Daihatsu-class Landing Craft as her default equipment.
- Akitsu maru Kai comes with an uncraftable Type 3 Spotter/Liaison (ASW) and Ka-type Observation Autogyro.
- Both Akashi and her remodelled version come with an uncraftable Ship Repair Facility as her default equipment.
- Akashi historically remodelled from a pre-dreadnaught battleship Asahi, thus has battleship-tier remodel cost, repair cost and repair time.
