Transport Operations are currently an Event Only Mechanic which has made a continued appearance since the Fall 2015 Event. The main objective of Transport Operations is to transport supplies to the Transport Drop-off and obtain enough Transport Points until the Transport Gauge is cleared.

About Transport Operation Maps

Example of an event map with a transport operation from Winter 2016.

When an admiral is assigned to perform a transport operation, they will be assigned use a certain set of kanmusus to partake in transporting supplies to a certain location on the map. The Transport drop off location is marked as a green node with a green flag on the map. The objective of the fleet will be to reach the drop off point and then successfully survive clear the boss node that will generally follow the transport drop off point. If the player is successful at beating the boss node with an A or S rank, they will be able to deplete the TP gauge. Once depleted, the transport operation will be complete.

Depending on the map, this will either be part of a phase of the map, or it will be considered complete once the transport operation is complete. If the objective is to only complete the transport operation you will not need to defeat the boss abyssal to complete the map, you will only need an A rank at a bare minimum if successfully depletes the TP gauge's bar.

These maps can either use a single fleet or a Transport Escort Combined Fleet.

For more information regarding combined fleets please view the Combined Fleet section.

Depleting the TP Gauge

When your fleet reaches the transport drop-off point, you will receive a notice which shows how much transport equipment you brought with your fleet which will count toward you TP score. In this case, this fleet was equipped with 10 drum canisters and 1 daihatsu.

The TP gauge acts like an HP gauge in the sense of how much materials you have transported already. Mechanically, there are three factors when calculating how much TP gauge will be depleted in a run: (1) Result at boss node, (2) Equipment carried by the fleet, and (3) Ships used in the fleet. The TP gauge depletion is calculated this way:
[math] \text{TP Drain} = \text{Floor[Boss Rank Modifier} \times \text{(} \sum^\text{All equipment slots} \text{Equipment TP Value} + \sum^\text{All ships in fleet} \text{Ship TP Value)]} [/math]

Note that the equipment factor and the ship factor only calculates the equipment and ships in the fleet as it reaches the drop-off point. Having fewer ships and/or equipment when the point is reached will reduce the amount of TP Drain, but ships/equipment no longer present in fleet after the drop-off point is reached will not affect the final TP Drain.

Once you successfully deplete the TP Gauge, the TP Gauge will explode before either the map is considered complete or moves on to the Boss Gauge.

Boss Rank Modifier

This modifier is simple: 1.0 for S-rank victory, 0.7 for A-rank victory, and 0 (none) for B-rank or worse. Because of this, it is critical that a fleet is able to sink 4 or more ships at the boss node (which is the minimum requirement for A-rank victory).

Equipment TP Value

Some equipment provides TP values when used in Transport Operations. Each instance of the equipment shown in the table below contributes towards the TP drain.

The values appear to change from event to event. This table is very likely outdated.

Equipment S-Rank A-Rank
Daihatsu-class Landing Craft / Toku Daihatsu-class Landing Craft / Kinu Kai Ni 8.0 5.6
Daihatsu-class Landing Craft (Type 89 Medium Tanks & Marines) * 13.0* 9.1*
Drum Canister 5.0 3.5
Type 2 Ka-Mi Tank 2.0 1.4
Battle Rations / Canned Saury 1.0 0.7
  • TP Values of item are from Summer 2016 Event, TP values have been shown to change from each event base value is 8.0 on S-rank and 5.6 on A-rank

Ship TP Value

Your fleet composition also affects the TP drain, as shown in the table below.

Ship Type S-Rank A-Rank
Destroyer 5.0 3.5
Light Cruiser 2.0 1.2
Heavy Cruiser 0.0 0.0
Aviation Cruiser 4.0 2.8
Aviation Battleship 7.0 4.9
Seaplane Tender 9.0 6.3
Amphibious Assault Ship 12.0 8.4
Submarine Tender 7.0 4.9
Training Cruiser 6.0 4.2
Supply Ship 15.0 10.5
Light Carrier 0.0 0.0
Standard Carrier 0.0 0.0
Destroyer Escorts 0.0 0.0

Tips

  • When dealing with a single fleet that will participate in a transport operation, carefully plan out the amount of equipment and ships you can use for the map. It's often considered better to have a good balance of offensive equipment with transport equipment if you aim to S rank it.
  • In the event where a Transport-Escort Combine Fleet is used, it is commonly preferred to equip your destroyers in the transport fleet (Fleet One) with mainly drum canisters since they will have poor accuracy and won't do much damage. The Escort Fleet (Fleet 2) should be geared more for offensive combat.
  • Since Daihatsu-Class Landing Craft has a higher TP value than Drum Canisters (and all ships that can equip the former can equip the latter), it might be beneficial to compose your fleet with some ships that can carry the Daihatsu. Note, though, that many events have the tagging mechanic, so take care in composing your fleet lest you become unable to clear maps.
