Terminology

Japanese

乳 (chichi, lit. milk) is the Japanese word for breast.
胸 (mune, lit. chest) is the Japanese word for chest.
おっぱい (oppai, child language) is a less formal way to design breasts like boobs or tits.

Type and Size

There is some (never expect consistency from this game anyway) size consistency among the ships of the same type.

DE

For DE it's simple they are all flat, which is normal considering they are all pre-teen.

SS

Most submarines are either flat or have small breasts with some medium breasts and the notable exception of some old submarines having big breasts: I-19, I-8, I-26

DD

Kamikaze-class
- Difficult to say with their kimono but seems to be small or medium.
Mutsuki-class
- Mostly flat with maybe some small.
Fubuki-class
- All small with maybe some flat under their uniform.
Ayanami-class
- Mostly small with the exception of Oboro and Ushio.
  - Girls drawn by drew seem to systematically have smaller breasts in swimsuits...
Akatsuki-class
- The nanodesu have nano breasts, desu.
Hatsuharu-class
- All small or flat except for Ariake and Yuugure.
  - So in terms of bust, the Ariake subclass does exist...
Shiratsuyu-class
- Generally small at base and big at Kai Ni as this class consistently benefits from the remodel effect...(except Kawakaze).
  - Harusame is only promoted to medium at Kai Ni.
  - Kawakaze is flat and [math]\displaystyle{ 0 \times \text{Mod}_\text{boobs}=0 }[/math] so no upgrade.
Asashio-class
- All are flat with the notable exception of Natsugumo (small) and Minegumo (medium).
Kagerou-class
- Boobs subclass can be made depending on the artist.
  - Konishi flat with an upgrade to small at Kai Ni and for exception Oyashio and Hagikaze being big.
  - Shizuma Yoshinori All flat.
  - Parsley the well known "D-cup DD" trio of Urakaze, Isokaze and the biggest DD Hamakaze!
    - Who is Tanikaze? What do you mean Akigumo isn't a Yuugumo-class?
Yuugumo-class
- Mostly small and medium with some big at Kai Ni Like Yuugumo and Naganami.
Akizuki-class
- Big, with Akizuki and Hatsuzuki Kai Ni being medium.
Matsu-class
- Medium except Ume being big.
Shimakaze-class
- Shimakaze is hydrodynamic.
Z1-class
- As small as their stats...(flat).
Maestrale-class
- As flat as the wall of a prison cell.
J-class
- Difficult to say but seems to be at most small.
Tashkent-class
- Medium breasts that protect against the cold.
Fletcher-class
- Big, with Fletcher being among the biggest of the DD.
Samuel B. Roberts
- As flat as a DE.

CL(T)

CL
- A lot of medium/big with a rather consistent one small for each class (except Tenryuu and foreigner).
  - Small CL:Kuma, Nagara, Abukuma, Naka, Yuubari, Sakawa, Ooyodo.
CLT
- Flat, medium, big.
CT
- Big, big, big.

CA(V)

A lot of medium/big with for exception Mogami, Mikuma, Kumano and Tone being small.

CVL

50/50 between small and big (with some close to medium)

CV

Literally go from flight deck level of flat (cough Taihou cough) to one of the biggest pairs in the game.

(F)BB(V)

Go from medium to huge.
- Jean Bart despite being rather hard to determine exactly is clearly the smallest among battleships being small/medium.

AX

AS
- Whales are big ,dah~.
AO/AR/AV
- True to themselves, auxiliaries are never consistent in this game...and go from flat to huge.

Remodel

Indeed the bust size is one of the stats increased by a Kai Ni. This have been explicitely shown during the 2015 anime with Yuudachi Kai Ni during episode 9. Note that it is also shown that Fubuki didn't get a bust upgrade during her own Kai Ni. Also during the more recent KanColle 1944 anime despite not being acknowledged by the characters, Shigure Kai San clearly got an upgrade in the bust department. So it does happen. However, determining if a specific ship got a bust upgrade can be tricky as we often only have two drawings as references sometimes a lot of time between the two. Artists are not perfect and their styles change with time. In addition, a lot of them don't always take this upgrade into account when drawing seasonnal CG. For example Yuudachi in her Halloween CG has the same bust at base and Kai Ni. So if a ship doesn't appear in the following list it either doesn't get an upgrade with Kai Ni or is undetermined.

Abyssalification effect

In KanColle The Movie it is clear that the Abyssal Fubuki has a bigger bust than Fubuki. Indeed the corrupted kanmusu commonly called Abyssals are often quite recognizable despite the different appearance which sometimes includes a different bust size.

We are close to a 50/50 with a slight advantage from the abyssal. The logical conclusion is that the Abyssification phenomenon most of the time doesn't affect the bust size with some exceptions going either bigger or smaller.

Underwear

This section will list what kanmusu use to cover their breasts under their clothes, which doesn't include only bras. Also for a lot of kanmusu it's either undermined or they don't wear anything.
