Range determines which ships attack first. It is impossible to reduce the base range of a ship, but certain equipment can extend it.

- USN DDs, Dan Yang, and Yukikaze Kai Ni are the only DDs able to reach:
- Using both a Very Long Range equipment and a Type 2 Reconnaissance Aircraft
on Souryuu Kai Ni, Hiryuu Kai Ni, Ise Kai Ni or Hyuuga Kai Ni, will set them at "Longest Range".
