Gameplay Effects
 +
A married girl will have:

 +
*Her level instantly raised to 100 and her level cap raised to 180 (see here).
 +
** This will affect all level-related elements, namely:
 +
*** Some Expeditions' requirements or/and great success rate,
 +
*** Natural stat growth for ASW ASW, LoS LOS, evasion Evasion, and accuracy Hit/hit rate,
 +
*** Repair time,
 +
*** Night Recon trigger rate,
 +
*** Night Cut-In trigger rate,
 +
*** Touch trigger rates,
 +
*** Touch damage for SS(V),
 +
*** Experience bonus for CT,

<big>Requirements</big>
+
* Hidden Fit Bonuses/Penalties being "diminished".
*A ship that has reached level 99

* A Marriage Ring and Documents

One Marriage Ring and Documents is given to every player that completes the first 4 marriage quests shown below. Any subsequent marriages (i.e. polygamy) will require additional rings which can be purchased at the item shop for 700 DMM Points (equal to 700¥) or roughly $7 USD.

 +
* Bonus +3~6 luck Luck (random).
 +
** This bonus will not go over the ship girl's hard luck cap (only relevant for ship already luck modded).

Changes to Married Ship
+
* Consumption of fuel Fuel and ammo Ammo is reduced by 15%.
Marrying a ship raises its level cap to 150, and gives that ship (and thus you) a number of benefits in stats and other trivial things. Note that, unlike when you remodel, marriage will <u>not</u> reset any modernization benefits.
+
** This does not affect bauxite Bauxite consumption when replenishing planes.

 +
* Her max HP HP increase, see the below table for details.
 +
** The HP increase depends on her remodel's base HP¨and HP cap,
 +
** E.g. marrying Bismarck Base/Kai (90/94 HP +5 HP) will not get her to 101 HP upon remodel to Zwei/Drei (96 HP +3 HP).
 +
** This will affect HP modernization for certain ship reaching the HP cap.

Other changes
*When set as secretary ship (flagship of 1st fleet), there will be a light shower of sakura petals over the ship.
+
* An animated sakura petal shower effect will appear behind the married ship girl at the Home Port menu when she is Secretary.
*New line will be used when set as secretary ship.
+
* A wedding ring icon will appear on her card and banner:
*A wedding ring icon will appear on the bottom right of the card, and on the bottom right of the banner of that ship.
+
* Her name will have a pink tint on the Composition menu, and her level golden on most menus.
*Name changes from white to (sakura) pink when viewed in the fleet organization menu. (The pink is quite light, so you have to look carefully to notice it.)
+
* She will get an additional secretary voice line.
*After marriage, it is possible to re-watch the marriage ceremony or listen to the marriage line again in your ship album / library, on the page of the ship girl you have married.

Non-changes and notes
Non-changes that one might have otherwise expected:

*Bauxite cost to replace planes shot down does not change.

*Repair times do not change (they continue increasing because of the level up).

*Firepower (火力), Torpedo (雷装), Anti-air (対空), and Defense (装甲) do not change.

*All modernization benefits are kept (including luck).

*Moral / Fatigue, fuel & ammo status do not get reset as this is not counted as a remodel (HP does get replenished due to the increase it gets from the marriage).

+
Additional Notes
+
* The marriage cinematic can be rewatched at any time from the Library menu,
#You must complete the first 4 quests related to the marriage procedure to be able to marry a ship. You may do some of them even before you have a level 99 ship. These quests are listed in the table below.
+
** Only the remodel married will have the cinematic available (e.g. marrying "Kongou Kai Ni" will not allow viewing the cinematic for "Kongou Base/Kai/Kai Ni C").
#Completing the 4th quest (Defeat a boss in 2-3 with a level 90-99 flagship) will give you a set of marriage ring and documents which you will need for the marriage.
+
* Marriage will not change the minimum and maximum stats of a ship girl other than the previously mentioned ones,
#Upon reaching level 99, in the Remodel / Modernization page, the ship's level will have a soft white glow around it. Clicking on it will bring you to a confirmation dialog. Mousing over it will pop up a bubble that tells you to sign the marriage document.
+
* Morale and resupply status do not change on marriage,
#Click the left button that says 「書類一式にサインする」 to sign the document.
+
* HP are fully regenerated for marriage (the damaged form cannot appear during marriage).
#Enjoy the ceremony.

#Complete the remaining 2 quests to get the Couple Futon.

Wedding ring appears on bottom right.
  • An animated sakura petal shower effect will appear behind the married ship girl at the Home Port menu when she is Secretary.
  • A wedding ring icon will appear on her card and banner:
  • Her name will have a pink tint on the Composition menu, and her level golden on most menus.
  • She will get an additional secretary voice line.

Additional Notes

  • The marriage cinematic can be rewatched at any time from the Library menu,
    • Only the remodel married will have the cinematic available (e.g. marrying "Kongou Kai Ni" will not allow viewing the cinematic for "Kongou Base/Kai/Kai Ni C").
  • Marriage will not change the minimum and maximum stats of a ship girl other than the previously mentioned ones,
  • Morale and resupply status do not change on marriage,
  • HP are fully regenerated for marriage (the damaged form cannot appear during marriage).

Trivia

Fun fact

In Japan, the cost required to get married in real life is 450 yen, including the cost of submitting the various documents, with the marriage registration being free of charge.

  • The cost offset might be the price of the ring.
