Sure, I'd like some. | The Oxygen Torpedo is what the Japanese referred to the Type 93 torpedo (Known as the 'Long Lance' by the Americans) due to its propulsion system that used pure oxygen as the fuel oxidizer instead of compressed air, as this didn't leave any trails of exhaust bubbles on the surface of the warer. It was, by far, one of the most advanced torpedoes of the war. | |

Character
Seiyuu: Tanibe Yumi
Artist: Kujou Ichiso (玖条イチソ)
Appearance
Shigure wears a black seirafuku shared with the majority of the girls of her ship class. She has dark-brown hair that ties into a ponytail on the right side of her shoulder as well as blue eyes. She also wears long black socks and brown shoes. The rigging she has shows her sporting a large variation of the 12.7cm Gun Mount which according to Ichiso's, has demonstrated in a quick doodle that the gun can detatch from tbe back and be moved up to the front to fire.
Second Remodel Shigure maintains most of her same clothes before but has a few additional fixes to her design. She now sports a small golden decorative ornament on the side of her head which is the same as that found on the Fusou-Class as a parting gift reflecting the incident at the Leyte Gulf in which the Nishimura Fleet all met thier demise outside of Shigure, who was the only survivor from WWII. In addition, she now sports more stylized sleeves and a collar to her serafuku along with a read long neckerchief. She also sports the brown dog-like ear flaps like those Yuudachi and Kawakaze have.
Her rigging is also more complex as she now spots red tipped Quad Torpedo Mounts, a more refined 12.7cm gun mount along with additional smaller varation of the same gun mounted on the side.
Personality
Shigure's personality according to Tanibe Yumi in her interview described Shiratsuyu to have a clam and quite personality. Most likely because she is trying to refrain from letting her past history get to her as she has gone through a long and troublesome road based upon her in-real life counterpart's history in WWII.

- Yuudachi Kai Ni and Shigure Kai Ni both have similar dog ear-shaped hair, but Yuudachi's was based on a mad dog, while Shigure's was based on a obidient dog.
- She received the most Anti Aircraft armaments among the Shiratsuyu Class, resulting in her strong Anti-Air stats.
- This is a historical reference to Operation Kon and the Battle of the Philippine Sea.
- She is sometimes paired with Yamashiro as a couple because Yamashiro provided cover (and sunk as a result) for Shigure to escape the Battle of Leyte Gulf.

- During the Battle of Vella Gulf, she was the only destroyer to survive from the surprise torpedo salvos because the torpedo that hit her did not explode.
- During the Battle of Leyte Gulf, she pulled through hails of shell in front, while the rest of Nishimura Force was sunk. Then she fled and became the sole survivor.
- During the Operation HailStone, She suffered heavy damage from an air raid on Truk by United States Navy aircraft, taking a direct bomb hit to her No.2 gun turret, reducing her maximum speed to 25 knots.
