Introduction

The Summer 2017 Event, Crossing through the West once again! The European Rescue Operation(【西方再打通!欧州救援作戦】) is scheduled to begin on August 10th, 2017. The event will take place in the West and is a hypothetical "What If" Operation. The event will be a Large-Scale Event.

As of current, details regarding the upcoming event note that note that there will be a large and diverse variety of new ship girls which will be introduced within this event which includes Submarines, Destroyers, Aircraft Carriers and Battleships along with several recent rare foreign kanmusu from Britain, France, and Italy as well as a slew of forgien ships which will be returning as drops over the course of the event. The total number of maps invovled in this event will include 4 Main Stage Operations and 3 Extra Operations, overall making 7 Event Maps in total.

New Ships

The following details have been revealed from Dev Tweets, Comptiq Magazine and the Zuiun Festival.

Total Ships to appear

The September issue of Comptiq Magazine revealed that a total of 7 Ships will be appearing in this event.

British, Italian, and French ships were confirmed via Dev Tweets[1] (although no specific details were given regarding ship classes).

Destroyers

  1. A total of 3 new Destroyers will appear in the event.
    • Dev Tweets revealed that one of these Destroyers worked alongside Harukaze as part of Destroyer Division 5, and that she worked alongside Shigure during her final mission.
      • Said Destroyer will be a reward for completing the Second Main Operation (i.e. E2).[2]
    • Hints suggest she will be the Kamikaze-class Destroyer Hatakaze
  2. Two other destroyers' silhouettes are shown in Comptiq Magazine, besides the ship that is suspected to be Hatakaze.

Submarine

  1. The Zuiun Festival revealed that a Foreign Submarine will be appearing as a drop in the event.
  2. Comptiq Magazine revealed that the one of foreign ships was handed over to the IJN during its career.
    • This could be the Italian Submarine Comandante Cappelinni or Luigi Torelli (TBC).

Battleship

  1. Comptiq Magazine revealed that a foreign Battleship would be the prize for completing all the Entire Main Operation Maps.
    • It's believed that the battleship will likely be French (TBC).

Aircraft Carrier

  1. During the Zuiun Festival, a silhouette of the New Aircraft Carrier was shown at the live event.
  2. The name of the foreign CV was announced; however, it was only announced via lip movement. The first part of the lip movement was an "A" or "HA" sound, but the rest is undecipherable.
  3. Comptiq Magazine revealed that the Carrier in question was able to use British SwordFish Bombers.
  4. This Aircraft Carrier will be the Final Reward for completing all the Extra Operations.
  5. Current hints suggest that this is the British Aircraft Carrier Ark Royal.

Unknown

  1. A new ship is expected to make her appearance in E-1, based on dev tweet information[3].
    • This could be one of the destroyers mentioned above, or the seventh new ship (TBC). No details were given in the tweet.

Known Returning Rare Ships

  1. Many foreign ships such as Warspite, Graf Zeppelin and Aquila are confirmed to be returning for admirals who do not own them and can be found in some of the later operations.
  2. September's Comptiq Magazine revealed that some foreign ships can be farmed multiple times, while others are restricted drops.
  3. Dev Tweets have noted that Yamakaze will be obtainable as a drop on E-1.

New Equipment

June's Rank Rewards revealed two planes which served as a hint regarding about one of the ships appearing in the upcoming event.

Participation requirements

  • Must have a 75% sortie win ratio.
  • Must have 5 empty ship slots for new ships.
  • Must have 20 free equipment slots.

Special Mechanics

  1. The difficulty system first used in Spring 2015 Event returns: you can choose between Operation A (, Hard), Operation B (, Medium) or Operation C (, Easy).
    • Choosing A or B requires certain HQ Level (HQ Lv 35 for B / 80 for A in Spring 2015 Event).
    • An important note to all Admirals intending to clear the event on Hard difficulty - further (new) conditions now apply:
