Changes

A torpedo developed by the Japanese.  It was nicknamed the "Long Lance" and it lived up to its name.  While other navies used steam propulsion for their torpedoes, the Japanese came up with the concept of using oxygen to propel their torpedoes.  The advantage were the torpedoes left no wake, had a longer range, and tended to be faster than the steam propelled ones.  These were used to a devastating effect during the sea battles off Guadalcanal.

With the combination of both speed and and damage, this torpedoe is some of the few naval weapons that allow small ship like DD can heavily damage of even sink an BB.

 

Althrough archiving an unthinkable range of 40 km which almost triple than the maximum range at 14 km of the 21 inch Mark 15 torpedoes (alied) using compressed pure oxygen is so dangerous that the some of IJN cruiser get sunk because of the torpedoes explosion like Chikuma and Chokai in which both of them recieved minimum damage from enemy ship but getting sunk soon afterward because of the torpedoes explosion.
