The excellent heavy cruiser main guns were upgraded and used as the main guns of the Myoukou-class.<br>

This model improves the originally high-performance heavy cruiser main gun, and was equipped primarily by the [[:Category:My%C5%8Dk%C5%8D_Class|Myōkō-class]].

Other heavy cruisers had their early-model guns eventually replaced with this one during their modernisations.
