This is an army fighter squardon equipped with the IJA's main fighter, the Army Type 1 Fighter "Hayabusa".
It is also being called as the Katou's Hayabusa Squadron.
Led and trained by the famous squadron leader Katou and after various outstanding performances since the beginning of the war, it continued to fight hard in the Southern Operations and the Burmese region despite the unfavourable state of the war. It continued to use the Hayabusa until the end.
