− | Asakaze as well as most members of the Kamikaze class are very old destroyers, and thier poor stats reflect thier outdated status. Due to this, they are very poor in most combat situation and all of them require extensive training to turn them into something somewhat useful. But even when upgraded, most of thier stats are still below average to most Kai destroyers, but do however shine in the ability that most of them have very high luck stats which will help aid in thier survivability and and allows the to easily conduct torpedo cut ins. Keep in mind however that thier due to thier low stats, the damage they perform with torpedo cut ins will still be be relatively low compare to other destroyers, but if well trained they can be potentially be used as a fill in for certain ships in early parts of the event if you are aiming to reserve other destroyers for later parts of the event.

− | In addition, Asakaze as well as all of the Kamikaze class Destroyers have very low fuel and ammo consumption making them all ideal for expedition uses since they will help conserve ammo and fuel loss while you attempt to complete expeditions. Asakaze's Kai stats make her also just good enough that if one was to take extensive effort to make a pair of [[Type 4 Sonar]] and a [[Type 3 Depth Charge]] she would be able to perform pre-emptive ASW against enemy submarines once she reached around the early level 90s. In addition, Asakaze also have very high speed which is noted to be the second fastest destroyer beaten only by [[Shimakaze]], which may prove helpful if she manages to evade successfully.
