The BB's role is to damage enemy ships to reduce damage taken from them, and also giving an extra shelling phase at the boss. Using a BBV instead for anti-sub is unnecessary if your DDs and CLs are adequately equipped. AA equips such as 10cm HA are not recommended as the effect is slight and is outweighed by the utility of extra ASW or a damecon.
