* Her name means "Gathering Clouds".
* She was launched on the 27th of September 1928.
* Sunk in action, on the 12th of October 1942.
* The sword on her back is a nod to the Ame-no-murakumo-no-tsurugi ("The Sword of the Gathering Clouds of Heaven"), more commonly known today as Kusanagi-no-tsurugi (The "Grass-cutting Sword"), one of the three pieces of the Imperial Regalia of Japan - akin to the Crown Jewels of the UK.
