Hatsushimo is notably selfless and humble, talking about other ships (though none in particular) or the navy on whole in her MVP, Docking, Sortie Start and Sinking lines. Her Moderate Damage artwork and dialogue show a somewhat different side, however, with Hatsushimo much angrier-looking and determined not to sink. This is perhaps a reference to her very late wreckage in real life, surviving even the suicide mission Ten-Gō. Serving as an escort frequently throughout the Pacific War, protecting others appears to be her top priority (she was very successful at doing so), and likewise it's something she speaks of often.
