日本陸軍が二式複戦「屠龍」をベースに開発した試作双発戦闘機です。対戦闘機戦闘において苦戦を強いられた、制式採用の屠龍(キ45改)をさらに高性能化するため、後席を撤廃、エンジン出力と火力をパワーアップした邀撃戦闘機です。残念ながら制式採用されませんでしたが、対B29や発展型などに多くの可能性を秘めた機体でした。

A prototype twin-engined fighter developed using the Imperial Japanese Army's Type 2 two-seat fighter "Toryuu" as a base.</br>
The performance of the officially adopted Toryuu (Ki-45 Kai) was further improved with the removal of the rear seat, a better engine and more firepower. This place was pressed into desperate anti-air combat.<br>
Unfortunately, it wasn't adopted by the military but it showed great potential against the B-29 and its successors.
