Overview

After phase 2, the importance of small ships in non-event maps is significant (since many map requires 1CL2DD). Fortunately, many random offrouting was replaced by LoS check. 3-5, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 and 6-5 generally remained unchanged.

After the update in which the attack caps were increased(Shelling 180 -> 220, Night 300 -> 360, Support 150 -> 180 etc.), the marginal value of improvement is generally increased too. Moreover, the difference between Yamato class and other BBs(except Nagamutsu special attack) is significant.

Mogami Kai Ni and Yahagi Kai N B are one of the key ships which play almost unreplacable roles.

From quests, you can get 4 good torpedo bombers, 3 dive bombers with anti-air resistance, 2 dive bombers with long range, several fighters, and two main guns (41cm Triple Gun Mount Kai Ni and 41cm Twin Gun Mount Kai Ni). These weapons enable you to clear the most maps in Medium, even some maps in Hard. After you obtained the most of the equipment given by quests, and have one or two fleets of Kai Ni ships, it should be easy to clear all non-event maps, except 5-5, 6-4 and 6-5 which require some improvements and carefully planned strategies.
