独自開発された「特殊潜航艇」、その後期改良型のさらなる発展型です。<br>従来の甲標的を大型化、航続距離や通信能力を強化、搭乗員も5名に拡張、艇首に45cm魚雷発射管2基を備えるミニ潜水艦に近づいた強化発展型甲標的です。<br>本来はその戦局から艦上での運用を前提の設計でしたが、改良型の本艇は同運用に対応した水上艦での積極運用が可能です。
