As a seaplane tender, Taigei is considered to be a valuable component that is needed to complete a [[quest]] line that uses her in order to earn a rare set of torpedoes for submarines ([[53cm Submarine Bow Torpedo Mount (8 tubes)]]). Outside of this, her capabilities as a tender make her a rather frail unit in the fleet as she's not really useful for many stages outside of [[World 6#6-1|6-1 (The Submarine Operation]] where she can assist in leading an all sub fleet away from one extra fight (but in return is at risk of becoming a target).
