* Torpedoed and sunk by the submarine USS Dace on the 23rd of October 1944.
* Wreck located on the 19th of April 2019, by RV ''Petrel''. She sits upright in 1,850 m (6,070 ft) of water; the tip of the bow is broken off and lying upside down off the main wreck's port quarter. Aside from this damage, she is in astonishingly good condition, with all main gun turrets still in place and her massive bridge structure completely intact.
