Introduction

艦隊の航空偵察の主役として、戦いの前半期では幅広い局面で活躍した「零式水上偵察機」。
主力水上艦艇に搭載され、三座を活かして艦隊の「目」としての索敵任務に務めました。
本機は同水偵に調整された優秀な機上電探を装備、コストを度外視して徹底的に機体細部も改修整備された、夜間洋上偵察に十分運用可能な改良三座艦載夜間水上偵察機です。

The "type 0 reconnaissance seaplane" was the main element of the fleet's aerial reconnaissance, and was active in a wide range of situations during the first half of the war.
It was installed on capital surface ships and utilized its three seats to perform reconnaissance missions as the fleet's "eyes".
This plane is equipped with an excellent airborne radar that has been adjusted to suit this seaplane, and every detail of the plane has been thoroughly modified and improved regardless of cost, making it an improved three-seater ship-based nighttime seaplane reconnaissance aircraft, fully operational for nighttime maritime reconnaissance.

Mechanics

Seaplanes are the main aircraft type used by non-carrier ships (mainly battleships, cruisers, and auxiliaries).

• They are notably required to trigger Artillery Spotting.

Reconnaissance AircraftSpLBRecon are planes that:

• Can trigger Contact.

• Does not contribute Fighter Power in Aerial Combat, and so cannot be shot down during it (can be shot down during Detection).
• When equipped to a Land Base:
  • Can extend the minimum Combat Radius in Sortie Mode.
  • Add a bonus multiplier to the total Defense Fighter-Power of the base in Air Defense Mode.
  • Can contribute Fighter Power (if it has any Proficiency or ), and can be shot down.

Night Recons have the ability to trigger Night Contact.

• The scouting phase animation will not show up like day battles; instead, the night recon plane's animation is played in the enemy fleet's radar.
• Acts as an Reconnaissance Seaplane too in day battle (with activation rates proportionally lower with the stat).

• [Bug] In a Combined Fleet situation, if a ship in the fleet equipped with a night scout is evacuated from the combined fleet using the Fleet Command Facility, the night recon can still trigger and activate as the fleet proceeds onward and enters a night battle.
