I have no idea what I'm doing

I think I want to sequester this by ship class and players who feel as if they are lacking in a certain ship type can use this for direction

it is meant to encompass all stages of the game up until a player has enough knowhow to know who to level

ships who:

  • are difficult to acquire
  • require limited resources to remodel
  • are exclusive to events
  • are strong early game due to great kais + high initial availability but fall off due to lacking a final remodel

will probably need some kind of special handling because as good as Yahagi is I do not want new players to feel as if they must blast LSC with their entire resource pool in hopes that they get her

formatting of this guide will probably be garbage until I learn wiki's formatting features

criteria for placement on this list will include but are not limited to:

  • stats
  • availability (rarity + exclusivity)
  • remodel level
  • materials required to remodel
  • quests gated behind the remodel
  • how early the ship "comes online" (for ships with strong kais, etc)
  • whether the ship falls off and is superseded by other ships or not
  • How liable the ship is to be "historical" in events

re: experience - level 70 requires over twice the experience that level 50 does, and level 90 requires over twice what level 70 does.

Destroyers (DD)
Priority Ship Name Explanation
Very High Yuudachi + Best surface combat offensive DD: Highest night battle attack power of all destroyers. Her final remodel comes at the low level of 55 and she is extremely easy to acquire, dropping virtually everywhere from World 1 onwards.

- Low starting luck and requires luckmodding to reach her full potential. Sunk fairly early into the war and is generally only a historical ship in Solomon Islands focused events.

Very High Kasumi + Performs exceptionally in both surface combat and anti-installation duties. Her offensive stats are very high including her starting luck stat, and she is able to equip all types of Landing Crafts and Command Facilities. To cap it off, she survived very late into the war and participated in many operations, making her a historical ship in many IJN focused events.

- Her final remodel requires level 75, which is quite daunting for newer admirals.

Very High Shimakaze + High overall stats and reaches her maximum potential with minimal experience investment, having a Kai better than most DD Kai Nis at only level 20.

- Hard to find: it takes a lot of 2-4 farming or Construction spam to acquire her early on. Rarely is historical in events and she will eventually will be surpassed by other destroyers once you build up a collection of high end K2s. Low starting luck, too.

Very High Yukikaze + High overall stats and reaches 90% of her maximum effectiveness at Kai. Monstrous initial luck. Very frequently historical in events. One of the best DDs in the game at Kai Ni, and can equip Tanks and Command Facilities at Kai Ni.

- Requires a whopping three blueprints to remodel to Kai Ni, alongside the very high level of 88. Rare and only drops from select late main-world maps or rare Construction results.

Very High Ayanami + Extremely high surface combat stats: second highest night attack power of all destroyers. Highest DD firepower stat, and an impressive base luck of 40.
