Becoming an Editor

The first step in becoming a wiki editor is to request an account. If you are already active on our Discord server, then mentioning your nickname there can help our administrators recognize who is requesting an account.

Your First Edit

KCWiki uses a fairly standard, if basic, MediaWiki installation. As such, all editing is done in "source editing" mode: while text you enter gets displayed as plain text, if you want to do, say, bold text, then pressing the "B" button in the editor will add '''Bold text''' to the page, and you will have to replace the contents of the bold flags with your preferred text. This can be difficult to read, particularly with the many templates we use to format information.

Some hints:

• Use the "Show Preview" button to see what your edit will look like.
• Feel free to look at the MediaWiki formatting reference for more formatting information.
• Do not hesitate to ask for help on the Discord.
